Redefine SELFISH in 2014!

What does it REALLY mean to be selfish?

According to Webster’s dictionary, ‘selfish’ is to be concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself: seeking or concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure, or well being without regard for others.

Why not be all of these things WITH regard for others?

Excessive is beyond a normal or acceptable limit. So, what’s acceptable to you? Are you concerned enough about your welfare, your health, your dreams, your future? Only YOU can determine YOUR acceptable limit. What may seem excessive to one person may not be excessive to you. How often do you congratulate yourself for your accomplishments? What daily affirmations and rituals have you created for yourself?

Seek your own UNIQUE advantage. Your life depends upon it. Figure out what does separate you from everyone else. There is something divinely special about you that only you can share. it could be the way that you express yourself and cause others to take notice. Explore your hobbies. You will discover your natural gifts and talents in your hobbies.

Regard others by encouraging them to accept and define their limits and their unique advantage. Be an example in the lives of people around you by loving yourself wholeheartedly and unapologetically.

Selfish does not have to have a negative connotation. Anything in excess is not good for you. However, when we speak of taking care of ourselves, the MORE we do that the BETTER we will be in the end.

So, make 2014 the best year possible! The best year you’ve had yet! Redefine yourself! Redefine selfish!

YOUR WEEKLY TIP:

Do something SELFISH!!  (e.g., turn off your cell phone for a day, go to the spa alone, buy something just for you, YOU DESERVE IT!) Then, notice how others respond and share your experience with them.
